Working Staff
Permanent Residence for Working Staff
- Applicants who have worked in Shanghai continuously for 4 years with an annual salary income (before tax) exceeding CNY600,000, have paid annual individual income tax exceeding CNY 120,000, and stay in mainland China for no less than 6 months every year in this 4 years period can apply for permanent residence in China with their current employer's recommendation.
- The foreign spouse and their unmarried children under 18 years old of the above applicants can apply for permanent residence together.
Documents Required for Working Staff
Two (2) two-inch recent photos
Original valid passport and employment-typed residence permits for four (4) consecutive years
Original Income certificate of the last 4 years
Original and individual income tax clearance certificate for past four (4) consecutive years
Original valid Working Permit (or Employment Permit, Foreign Expert Certificate)
Original letter of recommendation
Original health check certificate
Original criminal record showing no trace or history of any kind must be verified by the Embassy/Consulate General of China
Original Employer's Business License and its online annual report for the past 4 years, Certificate of Approval for Establishment of Enterprises with foreign investment or Receipt for the Establishment of Enterprises with foreign investment or receipt for Change of Enterprises with foreign investment and its online joint annual report for the past 4 years (not required for domestic companies)
Processing Time
Applications will be resolved in 180 working days from the day all materials are submitted. (Time for investigation is excluded if some items need to be investigated by the Public Security Bureau)
